The Governor-General’s Programme for Excellence Secretariat has been monitoring closely the developments regarding the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Jamaica, and our priority remains the safety of you, our stakeholders.
Adhering to the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW), we are taking the precautionary health measures to work remotely to continue serving you.
Please note that the application process for the Governor-General’s Achievement Awards (GGAA) 2020 has been closed. In keeping with directives from Local Authorities, the scheduled dates for the respective County Ceremonies will inevitably be affected. Details regarding this will be communicated in a future update.
We encourage our I Believe Initiative (IBI) Ambassadors who have ongoing projects to abide by all regulations set out by the MOHW particularly with regards to social distancing.
Regarding our Summer of Service (SOS) scholarship recipients and scholarship hopefuls who will now be doing online classes, we encourage you to use the time wisely by studying and preparing for upcoming exams.
During this period, we urge all stakeholders to embrace a heightened sense of personal care and compassion towards those among us.
