IBI-Monroe College Scholarship Recipient Makes Courtesy Call on His Excellency The Governor-General

His Excellency Hon Patrick Allen welcomed Mr Frenandez Lawrence, the recipient of the 2017 I Believe Initiative (IBI) Monroe College 4-year Bachelor of Science in Computer Information System Scholarship to King’s House.

On Monday July 3,2017, I was on the IBI adjudication committee which selected Mr Lawrence to receive the scholarship from among several other competitors. Mr Peter Goldson was the Chairman of the Adjudication Committee.

His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen pins Mr Frenandez Lawrence. “You are now an 1 Believe Initiative (IBI) Ambassador!”

The other members of the panel were Mrs Maxine Francis, King’s House staff, Mrs Cordell Williams-Graham, and myself. Major Effiom B. Whyte, National Coordinator of the Governor-General’s Programme for Excellence and Ms Tricia N. Grier oversaw the selection process.

On hand to be a part of the visitation delegation was the Hon Burchell Whiteman, Special Advisor to the Governor-General, Mr Peter Goldson and Mr Percival Lawrence, Frenandez father. Mr Frenandez Lawrence was congratulated and appointed an IBI Ambassador by His Excellency.
