Competition Overview
The Governor-General’s Programme for Excellence (GGPE) regularly provides capacity building opportunities for IBI Ambassadors as they engage with their constituents. The COVID-19 Pandemic has caused a shift in the way that interventions are planned, delivered and measured. October 13-23, 2020 the GGPE hosted a series of webinars supporting IBI Ambassadors to adjust to the new paradigm of social outreach. The webinars covered three (3) main modules and a number of related topics were delivered by a mix of IBI Ambassadors and other thought leaders.
The I Believe Initiative (IBI) has partnered with the Urban Lab for Youth Innovation (DIA) a project implemented by the Institute of Law & Economics (ILE) to introduce a competition that provides a small grant to IBI Ambassadors who are leading projects in the areas of youth and education. To win that grant of $100,000, IBI Ambassadors will have to form a group of no less than three (3) Ambassadors (from within their parish) and create a proposal using the knowledge and skills garnered from the Webinar Series. The project proposal will be submitted to the Parish Lead of the IBI National Coordinating Committee (NCC) by November 4, 2020.
Project proposals are expected to reflect the competition theme and should display how Ambassadors intend on working to make a difference in the civic life and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values and motivation to make that difference. The proposal should also reflect how the new knowledge from the Webinar Series will help in the development and execution of the project.
